Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Gloschef, Guangdong, China. For privacy questions, contact us at hello@gloschef.com or through the contact page. Where an order is placed through a distributor or retailer, that party may also act as a controller for the data it collects; please review their privacy notice as well.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

• Contact and business details — name, company, job title, email, phone, country, shipping and billing address.
• Order and transaction details — products ordered, quantities, prices, payment status, invoices, shipping and tracking information.
• Project information — briefs, artwork, specifications, samples and correspondence for private-label, OEM/ODM or hospitality projects.
• Website usage data — IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring URL, and cookie data as described in our Cookies Settings.
• Communications — messages sent through forms, email, chat or phone, including attachments.
• Account data — for trade accounts, login credentials and order history.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of personal data (such as health data) and ask that you do not send them to us unless strictly necessary for a specific project.

How we use your information

Cookies and analytics

We use strictly necessary cookies to run the website and, where enabled, analytics and marketing cookies to understand usage and improve the site. Non-essential cookies are set only in accordance with your choices. See Cookies Settings for the categories and how to change your preferences.

Sharing your information

We share personal data only where necessary, and with appropriate safeguards. Recipients may include:

• payment, banking and fraud-prevention providers;
• freight forwarders, carriers and customs brokers;
• IT, hosting and email service providers acting on our instructions;
• testing laboratories, certification bodies and auditors;
• professional advisers (legal, accounting, insurance);
• authorities where required by law, court order or export-control rules;
• a buyer or successor in the event of a business transfer.

We do not sell personal data. Where a distributor or hospitality partner fulfils an order, we share the minimum information needed for delivery and support.

International transfers

We operate from China and work with partners worldwide. Personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including where our service providers are located. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and contractual confidentiality obligations, and we limit transfers to what is necessary for the purpose.

Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and to meet legal, tax, accounting and product-traceability obligations. Typical retention periods:

• enquiries that do not become orders — up to 24 months;
• order, invoice and shipping records — as required by tax and commercial law (typically 5–10 years);
• food-contact, test and specification records — for the lifetime of the product and the legally required period afterwards;
• website analytics — as configured for the analytics tool, normally up to 26 months;
• marketing contact details — until you withdraw consent or opt out, plus a short suppression record.

Security

We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including access controls, encrypted connections, restricted internal access to order and customer data, and contractual obligations for processors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; if a breach affects your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• ask us to delete data where there is no overriding legal obligation to keep it;
• restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing;
• receive your data in a portable format;
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
• lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

To exercise a right, email hello@gloschef.com with enough information to identify you and the request. We may ask for verification before acting. We respond within the period required by applicable law. You will not be charged for a reasonable request, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Children's privacy

This website and our trade services are intended for adults — consumers, retailers, distributors, hospitality buyers and brands. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Purchases and account registration must be made by an adult.

If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly. Where a consumer-facing activity might involve children (for example a competition), we will apply age-appropriate consent mechanisms and parental authorisation as required by local law.

Marketing

If you receive marketing emails from us, you can unsubscribe using the link in the email or by contacting us. We may still send transactional messages about orders, samples, invoices and after-sales matters. We do not share your contact details with third parties for their own marketing.

Automated decision-making

We do not use personal data for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Analytics and fraud checks may involve automated processing, but they do not make decisions about your access to products or services without human review where required by law.

Links to other websites

Our website may link to third-party sites, such as payment providers or social platforms. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; please review their notices before providing personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services, technology or legal requirements. The current version is always published on this page with the date shown above. Where changes are material, we will provide a clearer notice or, where required, ask for consent again.
